Additional earnings limit should soon fall: Improvement for numerous pensioners with a part -time job

From next year, the additional earnings limit for early retirement pensions should be canceled, according to the planned change in law.

Anyone who receives their pension before the regular pension and continues to work must pay attention to the additional earnings limit in order not to risk a pension cut.

In the past two years, it has been around 46,000 euros as part of the temporary Corona special regulation.

Now there is a change in sight that many early retirements are likely to be happy about with a part -time job in Germany.

For example, seniors who have not yet reached the regular retirement age should be able to earn unlimited in the coming years without the early retirement pension being shortened, as the German Press Agency (dpa) reported on November 16.

Without the planned change in the law, it would automatically drop to 6,300 euros a year on January 1, 2023.

"Instead of extending the exemption from the Corona crisis, the border will now be eliminated," quotes DPA Daniela Karbe-Gegler from the Federation of Taxpayers.

The Bundestag still has to agree to the law, the report says, but according to Karbe-Gegler, the form of form is a matter of form.

The German pension insurance also provides information about the planned change in the law: "From January 1, 2023, the federal government's plans should be completely omitted in the event of an early retirement pensions," says its homepage.

Improvement for recipients of a disability pension in sight

No fewer pensioners rely on a part -time job.

The additional earnings limit for disability pensions should also be “significantly increased”, as the German pension insurance further provides information about the plans.

According to dpa, an annual additional earnings of around 17,800 euros could then be free of charge due to full disability.

In the future, the border will be redefined annually and adapted to the development of the other social security borders, according to Karbe-Geßler dpa.

According to the German pension insurance, the planned increase in earnings limits does not apply to survivors.
