The Christmas tree at the Chancellery will only be lit for four hours a day, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Government spokesman Steffen Hebestreit told the AFP news agency.
Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) will receive the tree, which will be set up in the main courtyard of the Chancellery, next Thursday.
Hebestreit said the power consumption of the tree decorated with 4920 light-emitting diodes was 287 watts per hour.
The Christmas tree, which this year comes from the state of Brandenburg, was donated by the working group of German forest owners' associations and the Neuzelle monastery.
The approximately 15 meter tall spruce was felled on Friday in the Neuzelle forest and is to be erected in front of the Chancellery on Saturday, as announced by the Brandenburg Ministry for Science, Research and Culture.
The rbb had also reported on this year's Chancellor tree.
The Brandenburg Minister of Culture Manja Schüle (SPD) gave the Christmas tree contemplative words.
"The fact that in times of multiple crises the Chancellor's Christmas tree comes from the forests around Neuzelle, a place of culture, peace and togetherness, is a nice sign of hope."
