(ANSA) - FORTE DEI MARMI (LUCCA), NOVEMBER 18 - A band of professionals is being hunted for, aiming at the villas of Russian billionaires, after the hits in Forte dei Marmi, two in two consecutive days.
They may have fled everywhere after the large and 'hot' loot may have been delivered into the hands of compliant fences.
The investigations by the Carabinieri are in full swing to find the thieves who burgled a villa in Forte dei Marmi (Lucca) of the Russian oligarch Oleg Tinkov, 54, a tycoon known for his billion-dollar assets and for criticizing Putin on the invasion of Ukraine as well as for the huge investments in Italy.
The theft occurred at a time when Tinkov is not staying in Versilia, he is in Mexico.
According to initial estimates, the coup would have yielded a loot of hundreds of thousands of euros in precious objects and goods of various value kept in the safes set up in the Versilia residence.
More criminals acted between November 16 and 17 and according to the reconstructions they operated as professionals even by neutralizing sophisticated alarm systems.
The images taken by the cameras are being examined, while due to the presence of suspicious people either in the villa, or in the surrounding area, in the days preceding the theft, the investigations hope to find useful evidence in this regard.
The night before there had been another theft in another villa of tycoons from the East, this too with a huge loot, but while two tenants were staying inside,
looks like two rich Ukrainians, who woke up.
Iladri fled but had already emptied a safe.
The two episodes could be the work of the same gang whose traces are being sought along the entire coast, in particular to understand which supports the thieves may have used during the periods of preparation for the coups which required site visits and inspections to plan them in the best possible way.
