They came, saw and played twice: Kraftklub stopped in Munich on their "Kargo" tour - and criticized Bavaria's handling of climate activists.
It's a bit messed up.
As a warning, Kraftklub singer Felix Kummer points out to the raging crowd that, unlike other performances on the "Kargo" tour, they can't avoid a comparison.
After all, the Chemnitz musicians don't just play this concert at the Zenith.
Kraftklub are guests in Munich twice in a row, on Thursday and Friday.
Anyone who is present at the first concert now has to present something.
The singer was a guest at the Zenith just a few weeks ago with his farewell solo tour.
But the band also does that themselves. Already with the opener "So schön" Kummer and Co. bring the crowd up to operating temperature.
The audience, animated to freak out, gets the opportunity to do the same: from “Fahr mit mir” to “Be part of this band” to “I don't want to go to Berlin”, the five rock their way through their studio albums.
And then it becomes “touching”, as they state afterwards.
Kraftklub in the Zenith: Criticism of how Bavaria deals with climate activists
The band leaves the stage and makes their way through the audience, into the middle of the hall, where everyone dutifully squats down on command.
And when the cell phone lights sparkle in the dark during "Kein Liebeslied" and "Bei Dir", it's the emotional highlight of the evening.
Closely followed by the moment when, after 16 songs to "Karl-Marx-Stadt", the famous K floats brightly onto the stage.
Kraftklub manage the balancing act between rousing indie punk rock and a clear stance on current issues.
So it's no wonder that Felix Kummer interrupts briefly to express his annoyance that climate activists in Bavaria are being persecuted particularly hard.
It doesn't spoil the good mood.
And for the grand finale with “Songs for Liam” and a rain of confetti, Kraftklub and the fans give it their all again.
In the end, Kummer attested to the premiere audience: "You did a very good job there!" Just like Kraftklub.
