The singer Yseult will be the godmother of the next edition of the Sommet de la Francophonie, which will be held in France in 2024, Emmanuel Macron announced on Saturday.
The President of the Republic took advantage of his trip to Djerba, Tunisia, where the 18th meeting of the 88 Member States of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) is being held this weekend, to meet the guest French artist, a few hours with his concert at the Village de la Francophonie.
“With Yseult, our godmother for 2024, we will continue to promote our beautiful language!”

At the next biannual summit of French-speaking countries, the singer will find herself, through her role as godmother, at the head of a group of a thousand young ambassadors of La Francophonie who are carrying projects relating to the language of Molière.
The 2024 edition of this multilateral meeting will take place at the Cité internationale de la langue française, which should open its doors next year at the Château de Villers-Cotterêts.

The French president had a meeting with his Tunisian counterpart, after which Paris announced a loan of 200 million euros to Tunisia, to support its faltering economy.
The re-election for four years of the secretary general of the OIF, alone in the running, is also on the menu of the summit which will continue on Sunday between representatives of this space of 321 million French-speakers, called to become 750 million in 2050, thanks to the 'Africa.
