After a battle with cancer, actress and musician Nikki Aycox, best known for her role as Meg Masters on Supernatural, died Wednesday, her sister-in-law confirmed in a Facebook post Thursday.
"My beautiful, smart, strong, talented and loving sister-in-law Nikki Aycox passed away with my brother by her side," she paid tribute.
"Nikki and Matt had a wonderful life together in California. She was a fighter and everyone who knew her loved her," she wrote.
"I broke her queen prematurely at too young an age. She was lovely," "Supernatural" creator Eric Kripke also paid tribute to her on Twitter.
Aycox's official cause of death has not yet been revealed, but it is known that for the past year she has been battling leukemia, a fact that she herself shared with her followers on Instagram in March 2021. "I became very sick in January and February and I was sure I had Corona. Well things came to a head," she wrote under her photo from the patients
"I was hospitalized with leukemia," she shared.

In addition to "Supernatural", Aycox also took part over the years in the series "Deep Blue", "Crime from the Past", "Law and Order" and "Criminal Thoughts" and in films such as "The Girl on the Train", "Perfect Stranger" and "Jeepers" Creepers".
She was a vegan and often shared with her followers her diet and her fight against the disease on her Instagram page and website.
Aycox was also a musician and released her first EP in 2015.
