After 261 issues, "DB Mobil" is over: the customer magazine of Deutsche Bahn should no longer be available in printed form on the trains. Instead, you want to be more present on online channels.

There was no more time for the station kiosk, the mobile phone battery is empty – these are probably the moments when passengers on the train reach for the customer magazine lying around.

In the future they will have to find an alternative.

The rail customer magazine “DB Mobil” will only be published online from next year.

The December number will be the last paper edition that is displayed on the trains, as the railway announced on Monday.

"Many now prefer to use a laptop or smartphone," said Marketing Manager Jürgen Kornmann, explaining the move.

»We are now following this trend.«

Although it is difficult to do without the printed magazine, the brand should become even more present on new channels and with new content.

For this purpose, the website dbmobil.de will be relaunched;

it should focus more on topics related to sustainable mobility.

According to Deutsche Bahn, the printed “DB mobil” has 1.15 million readers every month.

It is edited by the Bertelsmann subsidiary Territory.

The 261st edition will appear in December.
