A car with an insulting imprint against Bavaria's Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) called the police in the Upper Palatinate onto the scene.
She pulled the car out of traffic.
The 71-year-old driver is now expecting a complaint for insult, the police said.
The car was also not roadworthy.
The officials therefore pulled it out of circulation after the inspection on Sunday in Regensburg.
The investigators also found out that the driver was wanted for another offense with an arrest warrant.
The 71-year-old was taken to prison.
A police spokesman did not want to say on Monday what the crime was.
The insult that adorned the rear window was also not disclosed.
