Under the title “Architects of Tomorrow,” the Faculty of Architecture at Damascus University opened today an exhibition of distinguished graduation projects for students of the faculty from the batch of the academic year 2021-2022.

The exhibition includes 45 projects selected from among 240 projects, and it will continue until next Thursday in Reda Saeed Hall, and from Sunday 11-27-2022, until Thursday 1-12-2022 in the college building.

The President of Damascus University, Dr. Muhammad Osama al-Jabban, pointed out that the exhibition aims to encourage distinguished students to continue, excel and create, and to highlight and encourage artistic talents, pointing out that the university council took a decision to provide financial support for the most distinguished projects to help students implement their projects on the ground.

Dr. Oqba Fakush, Dean of the Faculty of Architectural Engineering at Damascus University, confirmed that the proposed projects address many of the urban and architectural problems that the country needs, and it is important for the concerned authorities to see them in order for them to become a reality and not remain locked in the drawers, indicating that the college has put the projects on hard disks and they will be sent to the institutions that It deals with each project separately.

Dr. Abeer Arqawi, the supervisor of the exhibition, pointed out the college's keenness to encourage students to tackle real projects on the ground and present them with modern engineering designs characterized by a level of artistic creativity to confirm that architecture is

Art as it is science, indicating that the works presented represent the outcome of a continuous effort that lasted five years of educational attainment, as the selected works are for those with the highest marks among graduates from 84 percent to 95 percent.

In interviews with SANA, a number of the participating students talked about their projects, where the student Hanadi Halabi said: She submitted a project that includes a proposed engineering design for the headquarters of the Syrian Virtual University that includes four blocks and has many educational and technical advantages, while the student Tala Al-Khatib said: She submitted a project that includes an engineering design A new building for radio and television in the Umayyad Square

In Damascus, it is a media production complex consisting of three buildings and a display screen in the middle of it as an attraction point, while the student, Muhammad Sitt al-Khabbaz, said: His project and his colleague include the rehabilitation of the axis of May 29 Street, which is located between Yusuf al-Azma and Seven Bahrat squares, and finding many solutions to road problems in it.
