A couple from Schleswig-Holstein gave empties for 1358.31 euros to Rewe and Nahkauf in one day.

A video shows the spectacular details.

Worms/Averlak - A Kaufland deposit voucher recently made waves on the Internet: After tz.de discovered a previously largely unnoticed note on Facebook, according to which a woman had sold empties for 415.94 euros, it received more attention.

Numerous media are now reporting on it.

And the radio station Antenne Niedersachsen asked its Facebook users what their highest deposit voucher had been.

To anticipate: The 415.94 euro campaign was topped by far!

Pledge couple collects for a year - and then collects 1358.31 euros at Rewe and Nahkauf

Because under the Facebook post, a user tagged another named Dominik with the call "Get out".

That Dominik actually has a very special empties story to tell: he collected a deposit for 1358.31 euros with his partner and handed it in to Rewe and Nahkauf within a few hours in summer 2020!

"I don't think anyone here at Antenne Niedersachsen surpasses that," says his buddy.

Now tz.de tells the story about it.

As usual, details cannot be verified - but after there is even a "video evidence", nothing indicates a fake.

100 sacks were the target for the "pledge floor".

On the way to the delivery, they also flew out of the window.

Dominik (today 28) and his girlfriend Jale (today 30) from Averlak in Schleswig-Holstein had set themselves a goal: "We wanted to see how much deposit you can collect in a year, since we always had at least two sacks a week ' he reports.

You pulled it off.

All empties deposited in the attic.

And then taken away collected.

It turned out that a lot accumulates in a year.

“We are two adults and two children in the household.

But only Dominik and I collected,” explains Jale.

Pledge couple from Schleswig-Holstein shot a video of the action

To capture everything for posterity, they shot a video and uploaded it to YouTube.

The three-minute clip had only collected a meager 116 views in more than two years until November 13th, 2022 - maybe that will change with our article:

The video starts with a drawing.

"The deposit floor" is on it, shows the attic of the two and the issued "Target 100!".

When the 100 sacks were reached, the next phase began: the collector couple carried the empties down from the attic and through the window (!) onto the street.

At a Nahkauf branch in town, they handed in empties as long as they could and were allowed to.

Then it was on to Rewe in Sankt Michaelisdonn, where a whopping 46 deposit vouchers were incurred.

Rewe provided an extra employee for the deposit machine

According to her, the couple was welcomed differently in the two supermarkets.

"The manager of the shop here in our village was fed up after ten bags and then we had to go to the next shop, which is about 7 km away from us," says Jale.

“We spoke to an employee there and told him that we have about 100 deposit bags.” The Rewe employee said that this is not that uncommon and “then put an employee at the machine who asked him emptied regularly".

Empties for 1358.31 euros!

Looks like a lot of work - also for the deposit machine, which capitulated in local purchases.

According to Jale, the boss was not amused.

Balance of the deposit collection campaign: 1358.31 euros.

The banknotes and coins that her epic deposit campaign brought to Nahkauf and Rewe can also be seen in the video.

No wonder Dominik and Jale are considered empties legends by their circle of friends and acquaintances.

“Collecting was fun,” Jale recalls.

The pawn couple kept a tally and also involved friends

She continues: “We kept a list so we always knew how many sacks we have now.

At some point we only bought small bottles (then more bottles fit in the bags).

When we were celebrating, we hung up extra sacks so that our friends' deposit is also ours.

Our friends found the action very amusing and were really surprised at the end of what happened.

A lot of people then wanted to start collecting, but no one pulled it off like we did.”

Dominik and Jale ended their careers as deposit collectors after the campaign, she explains: "They wouldn't do it again, taking it away was really exhausting and took a whole eight hours.

Pack the car full, drive back and forth again and again.” She actually wanted to stop halfway through, “because it was really so exhausting, but luckily we pulled through.” Do you have an even higher deposit?

Also amusing: the punk band that cleared the empties from their rehearsal room.
