First the unlocking of iPhones and PlayStations, then a role in Google and Facebook.

Now George "Geohot" Hotz, one of the most famous hackers in the world, joins Twitter.

The developer will work alongside Musk for three months to improve the social network's search tool.

"In terms of hiring, people who are good at coding are the top priority," Twitter's new owner reportedly said during a meeting with what's left of the company's workforce.

In recent weeks, the platform has laid off around 7,500 employees, or two-thirds of those employed globally.

From the same meeting intercepted by some media, including The Verge, it would have emerged that soon every employee will have to email Musk, once a week,

updates on the progress of the jobs to which he has been assigned.

According to the entrepreneur, the company's reorganization will initially see chaos and "many mistakes" but will "stabilize over time".

There is no shortage of help from the developer community to try to make Twitter a more interesting and secure platform.

Like Moxie Marlinspike, founder of the messaging app Signal, who would have offered to help protect private messages, from user to user, on the microblog, thus giving more solidity to the rumors that would see the arrival of encryption in the "direct" ends -to-end.

This is the same technology that prevents WhatsApp chats and other services from being read by third parties, not even governments or professional hackers, because they are encrypted.
