In 2020, the district court in Frankfurt am Main sentenced the Hamburg entrepreneur Alexander Falk to four years and six months in prison for inciting dangerous bodily harm.

The heir of the well-known city map publisher took action against the decision.

The Federal Court of Justice has now ruled that the verdict is final.

The Federal Court of Justice announced that the defendant's revision had been rejected.

A review "did not result in any fundamental error of law to the detriment of the accused".

Falk had been in custody for 22 months before the Frankfurt verdict.

This time will be counted towards the sentence of imprisonment imposed.

Suspension of the remainder of the sentence is normally only possible after two-thirds of the sentence has been served.

As a successful Internet entrepreneur, Falk was once one of the richest Germans.

In 2008, he was sentenced to four years in prison for attempted fraud because he had embellished the value of his company and sold it at an inflated price.

The shot lawyer had then prepared a multi-million dollar claim for damages from the other side.

Falk is said to have ordered the attack on him out of anger, revenge and because of offended honor.

Falk had protested in the process that he had nothing to do with the shot.

He had admitted to having commissioned an ultimately unsuccessful theft of the lawyer's data.
