A Catholic priest has been sentenced to three years in prison for filming a sex tape on an altar.
The 39-year-old admitted his guilt in court in the US state of Louisiana, several American media reported.
The women involved were each given a two-year suspended sentence.
According to reports, the priest was arrested in September 2020.
At the time, a passer-by called the police after observing the minister late at night in the church in the town of Pearl River near New Orleans - just as he was having sex with two women on the altar.
Police later recovered sex toys, a camera and stage lights.
Apparently, the priest had filmed himself having sex with two dominatrixes, according to the broadcaster "WAFB9".
The day after his arrest, the priest was removed from office.
After the trio's arrest, Archbishop of New Orleans Gregory Aymond called the Catholic's behavior "obscene," "regrettable," and "demonic."
Aymond then ordered the burning of the "desecrated altar."
The archdiocese announced that this had now been replaced.
