(ANSA) - MILAN, NOVEMBER 23 - Not only will the Municipality of Milan review the contribution to La Scala, which in 2021 - according to the theater's budget - was 5 million 339 thousand euros, but also the Lombardy Region which paid 3 million last year308 thousand euros and which has announced a major cut for the current year.
A "drastic and sudden decrease in public territorial contributions" reads the joint press release with which the CGIL, CISL, UIL and FIALS announced the confirmation of the strike of 26 November next and a new strike to be organized for December "possibly to be coordinated with the rest of the Milanese cultural world".
The strike of 26 November was decided as a 'leverage' to block the negotiations on the renewal of the contract, however the unexpected news of the cut in contributions has partially changed the priorities.
So the workers' assembly today not only confirmed it, but also decided on a strike, this time on a show, in December.
With the hypothesis of carrying out some initiative (in this case not a strike) even at the inauguration on December 7, such as reading a message before the national anthem, or distributing a flyer.
Today the workers' assembly confirmed the strike by a very large majority, giving it a new meaning given the cuts.
Not only the one announced and not yet exactly quantified by the Municipality of Milan for next year, but also the very significant one by the Lombardy Region that you lose the most is for the current year.
