VIDEO. What is the exhibition on the “Friends” series worth in Paris? We tested for you

If you are nostalgic for Rachel, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler, Monica and Ross, the visit of the premises will take you back a few years

"That's the 'Rachel cut' that was fashionable at the time," recalls Anissa, 33, pointing to one of the wigs on the shelf that trace Jennifer Aniston's different hairstyles to the through the seasons.

Coming to test the exhibition "The Friends Experience" at Porte de Versailles, the young woman who grew up with the American series, stops at each piece of the route, spotting the details and references that only a true fan can pick up.

The particularity of this exhibition is above all the immersion in the rooms that made the series: Monica and Rachel's apartment or that of Joey and Chandler, the Central Perk café... You can easily settle down on the sofa on which the six friends are in the credits and lie down on the brown leather armchairs on which Chandler and Joey have so often drank beers, in front of their TV.

Everything is done to leave with as many photo memories as possible.

And the bet is successful: we really feel in the place of the characters in the sets that were used for the 236 episodes of the comic series.

On the other hand, if you have not followed the TV series – rebroadcast on many private and public channels and hosted entirely on Netflix France – it may be better to pass your turn.

Apart from a fun photo to take with your gang of pals on the sofa and behind the door, you probably won't find any interest in it.

As for those for whom the terms "Pivote" and "We were on a break" are necessarily a reference to "Friends", you will be pleasantly surprised to discover the complete handwritten letter Rachel wrote to Ross and you will stay a few minutes in front of this large wall where subway lines representing the couples of the series over the nine seasons are drawn.

Some lines had more interruptions than others,

“It's a shame not to have put the passages in French.

The series made a name for itself above all with the dubbing here,” regrets Anissa, in front of one of the screens which broadcasts a memorable scene between Monica, Chandler and Janice [and her famous “hahahaha” in such a singular tone].

Indeed, if the exhibition is offered in English and French on the texts displayed on the walls, the audios are broadcast only in the original version with subtitles.

After a visit to the United States and Canada, the ephemeral exhibition moved to Paris on November 21, 2022 and will leave on January 23, 2023. It costs 25 euros per person for a visit of around 50 minutes .

And a reduction is possible for groups of 6… like the number of main characters in the series.
