Bake a bread from just a few ingredients that is also gluten-free - no problem with this recipe for a fluffy bread made from boiled rice.

Rice as a basic ingredient for bread is nothing new, at least in Asian countries.

Bánh Mì, a traditional Vietnamese bread that looks like a baguette but is made with rice flour instead of wheat flour, has a long tradition there.

Not only people with gluten intolerance get their money's worth with this type of bread.

Bread is also beneficial for a healthy diet.

Just boiled rice, water and yeast - that's all you need for homemade bread.

Anyone who bakes bread themselves usually saves a lot of money and also determines which ingredients end up on the plate.

While the Vietnamese variant is made with rice flour, the recipe is

simply delicious

made with boiled rice.

What you need for the bread:

  • About 120 grams of rice

  • 700 milliliters of water

  • 100 milliliters of water or milk

  • A tablespoon of sugar

  • A teaspoon of dry yeast

  • A good pinch of salt

  • 375 grams flour (coconut or wheat flour)

  • Two teaspoons of oil

To prepare it, put the rice in a saucepan with 700 milliliters of water and cook the rice for about 15 minutes until it is soft.

Then put the rice in a bowl and add the remaining ingredients, previously dissolving them in the water or milk.

Mix well and sift the flour over the mixture and knead the dough with your hands.

Finally, add the oil and knead the mixture well again.

Now let them rest for about an hour.

Form a loaf out of it and place the bread in a suitable springform pan, which is best lined with baking paper.

Bake the bread at 180 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes.

Before you turn it out, you should let it cool down completely.
