There is a lot of shopping going on in Germany on Black Friday.

But not all offers are as attractive as they seem at first glance.

Kassel – Traditionally, many trends from the USA are also consolidated in Europe and Germany.

It's the same with Black Friday.

The day that marks the start of Christmas shopping will take place on November 25th this year.

In addition to the many offers, discounts and promotions from retailers and sales outlets, there are a few things to consider, especially when shopping online, as hna.de writes.

On special sales days like Black Friday, the number of fake offers is significantly higher than usual.

Amazon is particularly affected by this.

Some fake goods can hardly be distinguished from real offers, as reported by the NRW consumer advice center.

What is striking, however, is that payment can only be made in advance, so that no goods are delivered despite the money transfer.

It is therefore better to avoid this payment method; instead, purchase by invoice or direct debit should be selected.

Black Friday 2022: Don't be pressured by marketing tools when buying

In addition, the discounts on promotional days such as Black Friday sometimes do not correspond to the specified reduction.

Because the so-called recommended retail price of the manufacturer (RRP), whose very high prices are used as a reference, often serves as a comparison price.

In the rarest of cases, goods and products are offered with the RRP - neither on Black Friday nor on any other day of the year.

According to a random sample by the consumer center NRW in 2018, instead of the promised 50 percent, the prices were often only reduced by around 20 percent compared to the RRP.

Another popular and deceptive tool used by marketing strategists is declining bars and declining clocks.

It is rarely possible to see exactly how many items of the desired goods are still available.

Buyers should not be alarmed or put under pressure by this strategy.

The attractive deal should always be sufficiently checked and compared.

Five tips for Black Friday

1. Set an alarm for midnight to catch the best deals

2. Desired products can be added to the shopping cart before Black Friday

3. Compare the prices of different providers

4. Use additional discounts through the newsletters of the providers

5. Pay attention to reputable providers and well-known forms of payment

Black Friday 2022: No deal is final

In principle, it is advisable to think about which purchases should be made before Black Friday and what you could do without in case of doubt.

If customers have nevertheless made an ill-considered purchase or are not satisfied with the delivered goods, the right of withdrawal remains.

In the case of an online purchase, this is usually possible up to 14 days after delivery of the item without giving reasons.

Only the return of the purchased product may incur costs.
