(ANSA) - ROME, NOVEMBER 24 - The city council of the Ukrainian capital has conferred the title of honorary citizen of Kiev on former British prime minister BorisJohnson.
"The City Council approved the decision to confer on Boris Johnson, a great friend of Ukraine, the title of honorary citizen of Kiev. Boris has visited the Ukrainian capital several times, both in peacetime and in the most dramatic period of our fight against the aggressor Johnson has done and, I am sure, will continue to do everything possible to get Britain and world leaders to provide the necessary assistance to Ukraine. We thank you for your support. We look forward to seeing you again in Kiev," Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy wrote in Telegram Klitschko, as Ukrinform reports.
The Academic Council of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv awarded Johnson an honorary doctorate.
