"Move cellphones out of class during class hours".
This was stated by the Minister of Education and Merit Giuseppe Valditara when interviewed by Monica Setta in the program Il Confronto broadcast on Rai Italia worldwide and on Rai Due on Saturdays at 6.30.
The proposal, explained the minister, goes in the direction of guaranteeing students and teachers time to study in class without distractions.
Valditara reiterated in the program his hypothesis of removing the citizen's income from young earners who don't even have compulsory schooling.
"Either they fill the gap" said the minister "or they lose their income".
Valditara also returned to his proposal to provide socially useful jobs for those students who become protagonists of serious cases of bullying or violence.
"We need to go back to the merits and in this key the Grand Alliance that I also propose to companies and trade unions will be an essential method for overcoming the competitive gap that Italian technical-professional education suffers from compared to other international countries".
Giovanni Brugnoli, vice president of Confindustria with responsibility for human capital, another guest on the show, said he was in agreement with the minister.
Simplification and school building are among Valditara's next fields of engagement.
