'Stories not to tell': entertaining puzzle of sex, lies and good actors thanks to Cesc Gay

focuses on a cinema with a choral and theatrical vocation, of characters from the liberal professions lost in sentimental and sexual tribulations.

Stories not to tell

is a comedy made up of five independent stories performed by what is called a luxury cast.

Cesc Gay is a director who enjoys acting and it shows.

Chino Darín, Anna Castillo and Javier Rey interpret the first episode, the simplest and roundest.

A classic episode of entanglement followed by another about a couple (Antonio De la Torre and María León) who come up against their own prejudices when a friend who has had a sexual drought since their separation (Álex Brendemühl) meets an actress (Eva Kings) one night.

The traps and lies of age appear in the two stories that are interpreted, on the one hand, by Maribel Verdú, Alexandra Jiménez and Nora Navas —who give life to three actresses and friends accustomed to lies— and, on the other, that of José Coronado, a mature writer, and Alejandra Onieva, his young lover.

A set that, despite its ups and downs, is an example of that lightness that characterizes good comedies in which the sentimental and sexual life of its characters is precipitated by those embarrassing situations that, deep down, define us better than the heroic ones. .
