It will still go on… SNCF traffic between Narbonne (Aude) and Castelnaudary (Aude), on the Toulouse-Narbonne axis, interrupted since Wednesday after the derailment of a freight train, will not resume until Tuesday, announced the SNCF this Friday.
“SNCF Réseau is undertaking the first works with a view to a very partial resumption of rail traffic from Tuesday November 29,” SNCF said in a press release.
"Only a quarter of the usual traffic" can be provided, the company said.
Travelers urged to postpone trips
A freight train, which linked Bordeaux (Gironde) to Sète (Hérault), derailed on Wednesday and “generated significant damage to railway infrastructure”, requiring “the replacement of 1,500 sleepers and signaling work”.
There are currently no trains running between Narbonne and Castelnaudary.
“Faced with these end-to-end routing difficulties, we invite all travelers who can to postpone their trips”, underlined the SNCF.
