Kanye West hints that he will run for US President in 2024

2022-11-25T19:32:42.079Z

The rapper announced, in a video posted on his Twitter account, that he had asked Donald Trump to be his vice-president.

In the aftermath of revelations from employees of his brand accusing him of "inappropriate behavior", rapper Kanye West is once again talking about him.

The artist suggested that he would be a candidate for the presidential election of 2024 and claimed to have offered Donald Trump to be his running mate.

The rapper, who now calls himself "Ye", posted a series of videos on his Twitter account overnight from Thursday to Friday, accompanied by the "Ye 24" logo.

In one, the 45-year-old rapper reminisces about a conversation he had with former President Donald Trump, who himself announced his candidacy for the 2024 US election.

“I asked him to be my vice-president,” said “Ye”, assuring that Donald Trump “started yelling at him”.

The entourage of the 45th president did not immediately respond to a request from our colleagues at AFP to confirm this exchange with the rap star.

The music and fashion troublemaker had already embarked on an unlikely bid for the 2020 US election, garnering only 70,000 votes.

"Ye" has been heavily criticized in recent weeks for wearing a t-shirt hijacking the anti-racist slogan "Black Lives Matter" and for posting comments on Instagram and Twitter denounced as anti-Semitic.

The Adidas brand, with which the artist's company "Yeezy" collaborated, announced that they were ending their partnership, which had helped make Kanye West a billionaire.

His former partner also announced an investigation Thursday after group employees accused the rapper of inappropriate sexual behavior and intimidation.
