Star Wars has thrilled young and old for more than 40 years.

The star warriors also have a biblical connection, think Simone and Claudia Paganini.

My book tip.

Star Wars is legend.

In 1977 the first movie was released under the title "Star Wars".

Producer George Lucas wanted to create something special with this film.

It is a battle between good and evil, in which there are some references to the Bible.

Simone and Claudia Paganini took a closer look at Star Wars from a biblical point of view.

"In the name of the father, the son and the power": That says the blurb

The Son of Man - a Skywalker?

The Infanticide in the Jedi Temple of Coruscant - A Reference to the Christmas Carol?

»May the force be with you« – a blessing?

Shmi - a Galactic Virgin Mary?

The Star Wars movies are full of biblical references.

Claudia and Simone Paganini not only uncover the hidden Bible references.

Anyone who watches the films and the struggle between the light and dark side of power depicted in them can also discover Paul's missionary commission to "convert the peoples from darkness to light" (Acts 26:18) and much more.

The most famous saying "May the force be with you" should also be known to less experienced sci-fi fans.

The authors suggest that this greeting is biblical in origin.

In the 31st chapter of the book of Deuteronomy, shortly before his death, Moses entrusted his successor Joshua with the words 'May you be mighty'.” The saying is also part of the Jewish liturgy.

The book is not a listing of other Bible commonalities.

Rather, it is an examination of the film's content in relation to biblical scholarship.

The questions that arise are thus prepared and answered in an entertaining way for film fans as well as for theologians.

The chronological order of the nine Star Wars films is a pattern that also occurs in the New Testament, according to the authors.

There would also be other parallels to the Bible in the Star Wars universe.

Anakin's mother, Shmi, became pregnant without having been with a man.

This is the cinematic view of the birth of Jesus.

"In the name of the father, the son and the power": My conclusion

Simone and Claudia Paganini have written a small, fine, entertaining and instructive book.

It is recommended to all Star Wars fans, but also to all those who want to get into the myth.
