In 2023, the Walt Disney Studio will be 100 years old and, as always, in November, Walt Disney Animation Studios will present a film to end the year.
This time, Strange World takes us to new yet familiar pulp worlds.
Can this compete with last year's crowd favorite Encanto?
The Walt Disney Studios were opened on October 16, 1923, last year the 60th feature-length film "Encanto" was presented and for the 100th anniversary there is now a suitable journey through time that draws inspiration from times past - especially in the past very popular pulp magazines - but implements this with modern means: "Strange World".
That's what Disney's Strange World is all about
Jake Gyllenhaal ("Spider-Man: Far From Home") voices the main character Searcher Clade, who is the son of a well-known explorer.
Searcher once went exploring with his father Jaeger (Dennis Quaid, "Goliath").
But even at a young age, father and son had a clash over the question of where to go in the future.
Jaeger is hardly satisfied even with good discoveries and dreams of the really big thing.
So their ways part one day when Searcher discovers a glowing plant whose fruits offer many new possibilities to her home.
25 years later, Avalonia has developed into a technology-based culture of prosperity and there is electricity, houses, machines and much more, in a mix of steampunk and low-tech.
Now a farmer, Searcher, like his father, is revered as a hero who did great things for the community.
