(ANSAMed) - BEIRUT, NOVEMBER 25 - The Syrian media gave ample coverage today to the new openings by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to his Syrian colleague Bashar al Assad, after years of mutual accusations against the backdrop of the internal and regional conflict still ongoing in Syria and in which Turkey is fully involved.
Syrian and Kurdish-Syrian media cite statements in the last few hours attributed to Erdogan by the Ankara press: "A meeting with Assad is possible. There is no resentment or bitterness in politics," Erdogan said.
"Sooner or later steps will be taken."
These openings accompany the Turkish air and artillery offensive in the north and north-east of Syria counter positions of Kurdish forces that are part of the coalition led de facto by the Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK), to which Turkey attributed the November 13 Istanbul bombing .
