Beetroot or beetroot?

Well, you keep asking yourself whether the double “e” is correct for the word, or not?

The fact that you are not the only one with question marks in the room proves that the dictionary now actually accepts both spellings.

So you can write the delicious vegetables as you feel like.

That's how it's done:

You only need a few ingredients:

  • Baked Beets:

  • 400 g beetroot 

  • 4 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 0.5 tsp pepper

  • Dressing:

  • 4 tablespoons white balsamic vinegar

  • 2 teaspoons grain mustard

  • 2 tsp honey

  • 6 tbsp olive oil

  • Besides that:

  • 50 g walnuts, chopped

  • 150g feta, crumbled

  • 50 g arugula

The preparation is not difficult:

  • Preheat the oven to 175°C.

  • For the beetroot:

    wash, trim and peel the vegetables (wear gloves to avoid red-stained hands).

    Halve the bulbs and cut into slices about 0.5 cm thick.

    Place slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

    Cover with olive oil, salt and pepper.

  • Bake for about 25 minutes until the beets are done.

    Allow to cool slightly.

  • For the dressing:

    Mix together the balsamic vinegar, mustard and honey.

    Slowly whisk in the olive oil in a thin stream to bind and thicken the dressing.

  • Place the beets in a bowl along with the crumbled feta, chopped walnuts and arugula.

    Mix with the salad dressing and serve.

  • Zack - done!
