Zelensky, ready to consider non-military liberation Crimea

(ANSA) - ROME, NOVEMBER 25 - Volodymyr Zelensky is ready to consider options for the non-military liberation of Crimea, but urges not to waste time on solutions that do not involve the return of all occupied territories: the Ukrainian president himself said in a Financial Times interview published today.

    "I understand that everyone is confused by the situation and what will happen to Crimea. If someone is ready to offer us a way to liberate Crimea in a non-military way, I can only be in favour," said Zelensky, calling the ongoing conflict a "war of strength and resilience ".

    But until Russia withdraws from all occupied territories there can be no lasting solution to the conflict.

   "We have to get all the land back...because I think the battlefield is the way (to go) when there's no diplomacy," he said: "If we can't take all the land back, the war is just frozen. It's a matter of time before it starts again".

    The FT recalls that on Wednesday Russia launched 70 missiles against Ukrainian infrastructure, leaving 80% of the country in darkness and without water.

In addition, all 15 of Ukraine's nuclear reactors were disconnected from the grid because the electricity supply became unstable.

"It was the type of accident that hasn't happened for I don't know how many years, maybe 80-90 years - Zelensky commented - A country on the European continent that is completely without light".
