Singer and actress Irene Cara has died at the age of 63, her agent announced late Friday night.
The star died at his home in Florida.
"It is with deep sadness that I announce, in agreement with the family, the death of Irene Cara", wrote on Twitter the agent of the star.
The causes of his death are not yet known.

It was in 1980 that the artist of Puerto Rican and Cuban origin became known thanks to the musical Fame.
Initially planned to be a simple dancer, she finally takes the role of Coco Hernandez, written for her, and sings the title of the film.
For her performance, she was twice nominated for the Grammy awards.
