(ANSA) - ROME, NOVEMBER 26 - Russian bombing on Wednesday cut off the power supply to 3 Ukrainian nuclear power plants, "all the safety mechanisms worked but two generators were damaged delaying the restart of two reactors: the repeated shutdowns caused by the attacks may have a serious impact on nuclear safety and energy supply".
The Guardian reports it, quoting the president of the Ukrainian nuclear company Energoatom Petro Kotin.
"Any use of scram (emergency shutdown of a reactor) can cause an accident," Oleh Korikov, chief nuclear safety inspector, told the Observer.
