Oscar-winning singer Irene Cara passed away last night (Friday) at the age of 63. Cara is known for the songs "Fame" and "Flashdance".
She died at her home in Florida under undisclosed circumstances.
Her publicist confirmed her death. "I am delivering the sad message on behalf of her family," wrote publicist Judit Moss.
Cara combined dance, acting and singing.
She has appeared both on stage and on television since childhood.
In the 70s she participated in Johnny Carson's legendary night show.
