(ANSA) - BEIJING, NOVEMBER 27 - Hundreds of students from Beijing's Tsinghua University took part in a protest today against the anti-Covid restrictions imposed by the government, as a witness told the AFP news agency and as shown by some videos released on social networks average.

"At 11:30 (4:30 in Italy) the students started showing signs at the entrance to the canteen, then more and more people joined. Now there are 200 to 300 people... We sang the national anthem and the International and we shouted 'freedom will prevail',” said one student.

And even in Shanghai, hundreds of people demonstrated in the city center, where protests had already erupted at dawn against the Chinese government's 'zero Covid' policy.

Protesters held up white sheets of paper - a gesture that has become a symbol of protest against censorship in China - and white flowers, standing silently at several intersections before police arrived and dispersed them, the witness said.
