Davis Cup; Italy and Spain directly to the group stage

2023 pairings defined, wild card for Azzurri and Iberians (ANSA) Italy and Spain have received a wild card for the 2023 Davis Cup Finals, and will therefore compete directly in the group stage, without going through the February preliminaries (3-4 or 4-5 match dates). The two finalists of the 2022 edition, Australia and Canada, have also qualified by right for the final phase, as per the regulations. The other national teams that took part in this year's finals


Italy and Spain have received a wild card for the 2023 Davis Cup Finals, and will therefore compete directly in the group stage, without going through the February preliminaries (3-4 or 4-5 match dates).

The two finalists of the 2022 edition, Australia and Canada, have also qualified by right for the final phase, as per the regulations.

The other national teams that took part in this year's finals will face the 12 winners of last September's World Group I playoffs.

Of these 24, the top 12 based on the current country rankings are seeds, and will play one of the other 12. These are the pairings:

The Azzurri, like Spain, have been admitted directly to the second phase for next year's edition, and on the basis of this decision one of the four groups of four teams that will be played in the week from 11 to 17 September 2023 will will also play next year in Italy, in Bologna, with the other twelve teams divided into three groups in as many cities.
