(ANSA) - TEHRAN, NOVEMBER 27 - The reasons for the arrest and the charges against the Iranian rapper Toumaj Salehi were formalized, who was arrested in late October for his support for the anti-system protests underway in Iran, triggered by the death of Mahsa Amini in police custody for improper clothing.
This was communicated by the head of the justice department of the state of Isfahan, Jafari, adding: "However, no court hearing has yet been held for him".
Salehi is accused of "corruption on Earth" (i.e. violation of Sharia law) - which in Iran is punishable by the death penalty - for his "cooperation with states hostile to the Islamic Republic", "propaganda against the system", "formation of illegal groups to undermine security","
