(ANSA) - BUENOS AIRES, NOVEMBER 27 - Meticulously prepared in recent weeks with a series of meetings kept secret, an agreement with a strong social content between the government of President Nicolas Maduro and the Venezuelan opposition was made official today in Mexico City, with the signing of the heads of delegations of the two parties: the government Jorge Rodriguez and the opponent (close to Juan Guaidò), Gerardo Blyde.
Today's meeting, held with the active support of Norway, allowed a resumption of the dialogue in Mexico between the parties which had been interrupted 14 months ago in protest by Caracas over the arrest of Alex Saab, a Venezuelan special envoy, later extradited to the United States.
It was certainly an internationally concerted planning, also considering that, shortly after the announcement of the signing of the 'Second partial agreement resulting from the Dialogue Table', an official of the US Treasury Department called it "a step in the right direction ".
The same Department then issued a statement in which it formalized the release of an authorization to the US oil company Chevron to partially resume the operations of its joint venture in Venezuela with the local state company Pdvsa.
