The Guadalajara International Book Fair (FIL) has reopened this Saturday at full capacity.
In nine days, nearly 850,000 people will pass through the venue, a figure that dwarfs that of any other event of its kind.
Three names have been the protagonists of the first day.
The first, Mircea Cărtărescu, the Romanian poet and novelist who won the FIL Prize for Literature, who has made a speech in defense of poetry and truth.
In second place, Irene Vallejo, author of the
bestseller El infinito en un junco,
the most cited book during the opening day.
And finally, the Argentine striker Leo Messi, who scored the first goal against Mexico and silenced the illusions of the Mexican fans.
