It's not just a decorated Christmas tree that makes you look forward to Christmas Eve, a nicely decorated home also sweetens Advent.

It's even nicer with ideas from the garden.

Not only the Christmas market and a pretty advent calendar contribute to the Advent mood, but also a suitable decoration that warms your heart.

If the decoration comes from your own garden, it is not only sustainable, but you also save a lot of money.

Whether as a table decoration or for the windowsill - a pretty Advent decoration gives a home a personal and warm touch.

Here are some ideas to try this year.

Best of all, you already have many of the materials in your garden.

  • Pine cones in the pot

  • Garlands of cones and branches

  • A homemade wreath for the apartment or front door

  • Decorate with nuts and berries

  • With mistletoe

For pine cones in a flower pot, take a small flower pot and fill it with one large pine cone or several small pine cones.

This looks particularly pretty if you use silver or gold-colored pots.

Garlands of cones and twigs make a pretty decoration for the window, as

My Beautiful Garden

knows.

To do this, cut ribbons and cords of different lengths.

Then attach pins or twigs to the vertical ribbons, which you then attach to a string stretched horizontally from corner to corner.

Walnuts and almonds in shell are also a pretty table decoration, especially together with red berries.

Mistletoe is a traditional twig of the Christmas season.

Mistletoe can often be found in this country and can be recognized by the fact that it grows on other trees as a semi-parasitic species.

It takes water and nutrients from them.

If you hang the twigs or crowns outdoors, you can enjoy the plant for a particularly long time, because according to

Pflanzen Kölle

it lasts longer.
