Cats love to be snuggly - and therefore like to sleep with you in the bed.

But some owners forbid it, finding it unhygienic.

But is it really that dangerous?

Or does it even have health benefits?

It is an eternal dispute among cat owners: Can the house cat go to bed with you?

Critics turn up their noses at this, arguing that it is unhygienic, if not unhealthy.

They even ban their cats from the bedroom.

Advocates, however, usually leave this cold - they are only too happy to cuddle with their furry friends between the sheets or even sleep in them together at night.

However, the animals often don’t give a damn whether a cat owner is for or against it: Many take every opportunity to spread out in their cozy bed – even if sometimes secretly.

Some owners finally give up and at least let them snooze at their feet on the edge of the bed.

However, the hygiene aspect cannot be completely wiped away, especially if you have an outdoor cat.

They bring all kinds of dirt with them from outside, but possibly also ticks, fleas and the like that nobody wants in their beds.

After all, in the worst case, they can transmit parasites and cause diseases.

If you want to prevent this, however, you should definitely have your cat regularly dewormed and brushed thoroughly.

Experts also recommend changing the bed linen more frequently if the furry friend sleeps in the warm bed.

This is also true because cats can lose a lot of hair.

This is particularly a problem in bed if you are allergic.

Anyone who suffers from asthma, for example, quickly has to struggle with shortness of breath or red eyes.

On the other hand, however, is the fact that house tigers are very clean animals that clean themselves several times a day.

According to the study, this has a calming effect

In addition, a study by Washington State University found that it even makes us happier when the house cat sleeps in the bed with us.

Cuddling with kitty even relieves stress and is calming.

Their soft purring also ensures this when they feel good.

The researchers say that the steady noise has a positive effect on our well-being.

However, one thing has to be considered before you bring the fur nose to bed: the house tiger is mainly active at night and early in the morning.

But this is also the time when we are mostly in deep sleep.

If this is sensitive and disturbed for a long time, it can make us feel tired and worn out in the morning.

Anyone who already suffers from insomnia should therefore carefully consider whether to let their own cat sleep in the bed.
