Over 250 representatives of institutions, territories, academia, industry and finance, 50 students, startups and third sector associations, nine working tables dedicated to the most relevant topics of sustainable development and numerous speakers of national and international standing.

These are some of the numbers of the first edition of the Multistakeholder Forum of the Cassa Depositi e Prestiti Group, the annual event on ESG issues dedicated to dialogue and confrontation with civil society.

Young people, finance, sustainable development and dialogue are the themes at the center of the day, entitled "A future to be designed together", which placed the expectations and contributions of the younger generations at the center of the agenda.

The meeting was opened by the president of the CDP, Giovanni Gorno Tempini, who underlined:

“With this first edition of the Multistakeholder Forum, the Cdp Group confirms its concrete contribution to the country's sustainable development.

Today's dialogue with over 250 representatives of civil society bears witness to the work of synthesis and promotion of national interests that we are carrying out, also thanks to an inclusive and systemic approach, in order to ensure that the opportunities generated concern everyone".

According to the Minister of Economy and Finance, Giancarlo Giorgetti, "useful indications for developing resilient, sustainable, supportive and inclusive development policies" can come from this day.

Concluding the works, the CEO and general manager of Cdp, Dario Scannapieco, underlined how sustainability and ESG criteria are "the founding foundations of the 2022-2024 Strategic Plan,

which strengthens Cassa's commitment towards the country and future generations to whom this Forum is dedicated”.

A strategy, explains the CEO, "based on responsible intervention policies and impact objectives that have allowed us to achieve significant results: in fact, in the first ten months of 2022, we mobilized resources for 24.5 billion in favor of startups, companies, public administrations and international cooperation projects".

Among the protagonists of the Forum, also the vice president of the European Commission with responsibility for the Green New Deal, Frans Timmermans, who recalled how “the ecological transition represents the industrial revolution of our century.

And finance, if inspired by principles of sustainability, can help create new opportunities and wealth”.

Shining a light on education is the new rector of the Milan Polytechnic, Donatella Sciuto, recalling “the importance of rethinking the education of the new generations to face increasingly changing contexts that require transversal skills.

Moments of confrontation such as those of today make it possible to create fruitful ecosystems between institutions, the academic world and civil society".
