From time to time it happens that you find bird feathers while walking in nature.

Assigning them to the right animals is not always easy.

Even experienced bird connoisseurs sometimes find it difficult to assign the feathers they find to the right birds.

And not without reason: in Germany alone there are 254 breeding bird species that lay their eggs and raise their young in this country.

There are also 50 guest bird species that only live in Germany in spring or autumn.

There are also so-called vagrants, i.e. birds that don’t actually live here, but stray here from time to time.

A staggering number, but anyone who has taken a liking to the small and large birdies can, with a little patience, quickly assign the feathers of the most well-known bird species to the animals.
