According to Europol, it has broken up a large European cocaine smuggling network and arrested 49 suspects.
Among them are six “high-ranking targets” in Dubai, according to Europol.
These had joined together to form a "super cartel" that "controlled around a third of the cocaine trade in Europe," according to the EU police authority.
Coordinated raids were carried out in Europe and the United Arab Emirates between November 8 and 19, targeting both the command center and the logistical infrastructure for drug trafficking in Europe.
More than 30 tons of drugs were confiscated in the course of the investigation.
