ESSENCE magazine, dedicated to the lifestyle, fashion and beauty of African-American women, chose the former first lady of the United States to cover the November edition, which opens the online series of the American media company.

The new series of ESSENCE magazine is dedicated to key figures and conversations about African-American culture, when Michelle, who already 6 years ago left the White House with her husband Barack Obama, was chosen to open the series.
In an interview with the magazine, Mrs. Obama talks about her new book "The Light We Carry" which was published earlier this month, in which she normalizes the discourse about menopause in women and weight gain, emphasizes the importance of facing fears, and talks about "the inner flame that can motivate us all to greatness" that starts already in childhood.
For her, "the light we carry" ranges from the personal to the interpersonal, with Michelle taking a deep look at the broader implications of her ideas presented in the book.

As someone who has always been known for her fine taste (or at least since the injury in the public eye), and has more than once played with fashion experiments with looks that were even crowned as "unexpected" in episodes, the fashion-advanced styling chosen for Michelle for the cover of the article is not very surprising, but definitely maddening!

- similar to the skirt presented as part of Milan Fashion Week in February this year, as part of the brand's Fall-Winter 2022 collection, and directed by Art director Glen Martens.
To close the look, the crazy skirt was teamed with a basic white t-shirt but with a twist, which was manifested in the flared sleeves and a tie at the back, which gave her a cropped look.
The eternal first lady was photographed barefoot, with loose hair (natural style) and a million dollar smile.

In recent seasons, Glenn Martens (along with other desirable fashion houses) has managed to expand the meaning of denim, and has designed collections based on the purity of jeans that touch the realms of couture.
Diesel's patchwork skirt, which Michelle Obama wears in ESSENCE magazine, is a clear expression of the wonderful experiments that Martens does with denim and its derivatives.
And in addition, the long denim skirts trend is making a surprising comeback, whether in a tight or wide silhouette, as seen in recent weeks in every fresh feed of a fashionista or a lister who is frequently updated on the burning trends - from Emily Sindlev, Nina Sandbach to Bella Hadid.
