Weather alert for the southern regions: after a Monday of respite from the rains, yet another cyclone will hit Italy on Tuesday.
The vortex will reach the Mediterranean from the Gulf of Lion, then will quickly reach Sardinia, Sicily and will cross the whole of the South. Cloudbursts and flash floods could hit the Southern Regions including Campania.
This is the prediction of Antonio Sanò, director and founder of the site www.iLMeteo.it.
"The weather is expected to worsen on the Major Islands and move towards Calabria, Basilicata, Campania and Puglia. Abundant rains and also in the form of storms or flash floods - says Sanò - could affect all these Regions, but in particular the Ionian sectors. The hydrogeological risk will be considered high".
Rains are also expected in the North, but generally of low intensity.
The transit of the cyclone on Wednesday will cause more rain in the south, but also in the central Adriatic regions where snow will fall again just above 1100 meters in the Apennines.
However, the week will not only be marked by the passage of the cyclone, but also by a decidedly colder climate;
in fact, over the weekend just past, increasingly colder winds from the Balkans began to flow.
As a result, temperatures will tend to decrease in all regions, especially during the day when double-digit values are unlikely to be reached in the North, except in Liguria, in the Center slightly above 12°C and in the South always below 17°C.
The thermal values, after almost a year, will go below the average for the period almost everywhere.
