(ANSA) - FLORENCE, NOVEMBER 29 - An appeal hearing was held in the morning in Barcelona, at the Regional Court of Catalonia, in the Spanish trial on the case of Niccolò Ciatti, a young Italian killed in a beating in a disco with lethal kick, decisive in cause his death, shot by the Chechen Rassoul Bissoultanov.
It happened in 2017, in a nightclub in Lloret de Mar in front of hundreds of customers.
In the first instance, Bissoultanov, now a fugitive, was sentenced to 15 years for voluntary homicide.
Instead, his friend Movsar Magomedov, accused by Niccolo's family as an accomplice in the beating, was acquitted.

For his part, the prosecutor asked for confirmation of the 15-year sentence (the minimum required for voluntary homicide in Spain).
Bissoultanov, who had already spent the maximum possible preventive sentence in prison in Spain, escaped last July after the first instance sentence.
The Catalan Tribunal court is now called to decide on the case.
However, the decision is not expected today but in the next few days.
In the meantime, reports lawyer Usai, Spain has rejected the European investigation order sent by Italy regarding the Italian trial on the case, which is still ongoing.
The reason for the rejection would be the application of the legal principle "ne bis in idem", according to which a person cannot be judged twice for the same fact.
The representatives of the Ciatti family, however, disagreed with the interpretation: "There is or is not a res judicata and until the Court of Cassation the sentence is not final".
