Are you tired of work?

This article is for you.

A British clinical psychologist shared a video on her TikTok account, in which she gave four critical signs that you are in an unhealthy state of chronic burnout at your job, which affects both the job itself and you, which she says requires treatment.

At the beginning of the video of Dr. Julie Smith, who has more than 4.2 million followers on the social network, she states that "Sometimes we are all busy and tired in our work.

But burnout is more than fatigue, it is a situation in which the tension we find ourselves in becomes chronic, and one that has a harmful effect on other areas of our lives."

Smith further explained that in the case of burnout, we "feel that we are working harder than ever, but our actual performance at work decreases."

To this end, she offered four signs that if they exist in one person, then he is in a state of burnout in his work.

🔥My fingers 😬 No. 4 is really common.

We all get overworked and tired every now and then, but burnout is more than tiredness.

Burnout is when stress becomes chronic and has a detrimental effect on other areas in your life.

Signs of burnout include chronic exhaustion alongside restlessness and trouble sleeping, poor self-care such as diet and exercise.

Other signs include repeated emotional distress, such as anxiety, low mood, or anger outbursts.

You may notice your performance at work is going down, while you feel you are working harder than ever, you may also start feeling disconnected with loved ones and struggle to get along as well as you normally do.

Below are some tips on how to prevent burnout but if you want more on this and how to make stress start working for you, see the link in my bio for my no.1 Sunday Times Bestseller,

Why Has Nobody Told Me This Before?

A few tips on burnout: 👉Start working out what you can say no to.

Often we feel obliged to say yes to every request or opportunity.

When our health is in question, it's a pretty good reason to practice the art of saying no to things that are not an absolute priority.

👉 Prioritize self-care.

Get back to basics because they are the foundations of good mental and physical health.

Make sleep, healthy food, hydration, exercise and social time top of your to do list.

And don't underestimate the power of these things to build your resilience.

👉 Re-think what matters.

We are vulnerable to burnout when we are working hard on something that is not in line with our own values.

Instructions on this in my book.

👉 Get support.

If you are worried about your mental health in any way, seeking support from a trusted friend or a professional is key.

Human connection is a powerful tool.

Use it.

• Detachment from the people around you:

this makes you more nervous and argue more with your partner and with your friends.

• Procrastination:

You put off tasks more than ever, and even small tasks now seem big and difficult.

• Invest less in yourself:

you do less physical activity, you don't really follow a diet in terms of food and you also sleep less.

• Physical and emotional exhaustion:

you are constantly exhausted and restless, but despite this you have difficulty sleeping at night.

Dr. Smith also noted that "beyond these critical signs, other signs of burnout are frequent emotional outbursts of anger, anxiety and low mood."

The video received many responses, among others from surfers who shared their burnout experiences at their workplace.

One commenter wrote: "I'm really worn out and it happens to me again and again for episodes. The problem is that every time I want to get out of this situation, my co-workers drag me in. I'm really tired."

Others wrote that they recognize themselves in each of the examples given.

However, some of the responses also had an optimistic dimension, as you can read in part: "We were there and sometimes we are still worn out, but we managed to overcome it little by little".
