Water is the ultimate cleaning agent.

However, it leaves unsightly stains on certain materials or otherwise damages them.

Special cleaning agents or additives can prevent this.

We show which surfaces you should take special care with.

1. wood

You should never wipe wooden surfaces too wet: the wood can swell and is then ruined forever.

Therefore, only lightly wet the wiping cloth with water and then wipe the surface dry again.

2. Laminate

Laminate floors should only be wiped with a damp cloth.

Otherwise, water can get into the joints and cause the laminate to swell up unattractively.

Therefore, use a special laminate cleaner that you add to the cleaning water instead of a universal cleaner or household agent for wiping the floor.

The agent not only ensures a neat result, but also seals the joints.

Then wipe dry, which also prevents streaking.

3. Marble

Whether in the bathroom or in the kitchen: marble surfaces are sensitive to all types of acid and moisture.

You should therefore always remove water splashes immediately and use special additives for marble for cleaning.

Pure water would quickly leave limescale stains on the marble.

4. Leather

Anyone who walks through the rain in leather boots knows the problem: untreated leather absorbs moisture like a sponge.

If the leather then dries, unsightly discolorations form and the material becomes dry and porous.

It is therefore better to use mild cleaning agents that are tailored to the type of leather (smooth leather, suede) and apply them with a soft cloth.
