(ANSA) - ROME, NOVEMBER 29 - "I talk to people every day, one person asked me: 'why will my child be without a tree this year, without a New Year's Eve, without the festive atmosphere?'
Now, mass events are forbidden in wartime. And they won't happen anyway. But no one will cancel New Year's and Christmas. We can't let Putin steal our Christmas," Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said in an interview with the 'RBC-Ukraine news agency.
"Despite the different opinions and from different sides we turned to a company that agreed to use its funds to install Christmas trees in many districts of the capital city. Less lights, no mass events but there will be Christmas trees, I don't want to take it away to the children,” added Klitschko.
