Maneuver: Calenda, from Meloni opening on many things

2022-11-29T12:27:51.242Z

The government will last a long time and with the maneuver commitments have been kept, looking at economic growth and with attention to work, says Prime Minister Meloni interviewed by the director of Corriere della Sera. Carlo Calenda at Palazzo Chigi to meet the premier (ANSA)

"It was a very positive meeting, we discussed the merits of the provision and looked through our proposals

: there are things we absolutely do not agree with. But we have discussed an extension of enterprise 4.0, a ceiling on the cost of gas instead of tax credits, in detail we talked about an increase in the salaries of health workers, we said that safe Italy must be restored, we made an analysis of the situation of the Pnrr, and asked for the Citizenship Income to be re-proposed as Rei. a lot of these things we found an opening."

This was stated by the leader of Action, Carlo Calenda, leaving Palazzo Chigi together with the Third Pole delegation, after a meeting on the maneuver with the premier, Giorgia Meloni, which lasted about an hour and a half.

"I knew it would be a difficult task

to lead a nation like Italy in one of the most complex moments in its history. I have never deluded myself, even if compared to Draghi I can count on a clear majority, a common program and a popular mandate Because in our legal system, one person alone cannot make the difference: the team is needed".

Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, in an interview with the editor of Corriere della Sera, says she is

convinced that her government "will last a long time,

also because Italy has paid for too long for the lack of stability".

Meloni defines his as a "modern and conservative right" and "the unreal and disastrous story that the left made during the electoral campaign on the hypothesis of a Meloni government has been widely denied", "the spread is at its lowest compared to recent months and international level there is great attention towards Italy".

From the manoeuvre, he says, "priorities and a vision emerge: economic growth and attention to work, starting with making the production system safe in the face of expensive energy".

"Some - he observes - were taken aback by the choices of a government which, it was said, would favor the rich: we chose instead to support the most fragile and strengthen the middle class".

To those who accuse her of the Citizenship Income, the prime minister replies that "seeing the Democratic Party, which voted against the institution of income, take to the streets today to defend it demonstrates the instrumentality of certain positions" and "I would like to ask the M5s if when established they imagined it as a sort of annuity to be received from the age of 18 until retirement. If the answer is yes, I don't agree".

Meloni reminds the president of Confindustria Bonomi that "more than half of the resources we have put in place are destined for companies".

And to the secretary of the CGIL Landini the indexation of pensions and the cut of the tax wedge.

The premier

excludes that the maneuver will be overturned

: "Improvement rules can certainly come, not only from the majority but also from the opposition".

Starting from the

tragedy of Ischia

, Meloni underlines that "there is a lot of work to do but we also need a different cultural approach. Because every euro invested in the care of the territory is a euro invested in giving our children a safer and more protected Italy" .

"It's not me, but the European agency Frontex - says the prime minister to the director of Corriere della Sera on the issue of migrants - who say that some NGOs represent a driving factor in the flows of illegal migrants, with consequences both on arrivals and on deaths in sea. I think that a serious State cannot tolerate these phenomena of illegality".

And she adds that "the approach of some NGOs, which carry out a predominantly ideological activity that has little to do with the rules of international law on the subject of sea rescue, finds a natural convergence with the interests of smugglers".

The prime minister also lets it be known that she will not withdraw the lawsuit against Saviano, saying she is certain that the magistrates will be impartial.
