(ANSA) - WASHINGTON, NOVEMBER 29 - Donald Trump will stay away from Georgia in view of the Midterm ballot for the Senate between the Reverend dem Raphael Warnock and his Republican challenger, the former college baseball champion HerschelWalker, chosen by the tycoon.
According to the US media, the former president will not hold rallies in support of his candidate but will limit himself to making phone calls to supporters and launching online fundraising appeals.
The decision was made in agreement between the two camps, in the belief that Trump's appearance would bring more risks than advantages in a state where all his candidates have lost (and where he himself was defeated in 2020, the only Republican president to lose the Peach been in 28 years).
All the more after the latest controversy over having hosted the anti-Semitic white supremacist Nick Fuentes for dinner at Mar-a-Lago.
The ballot is scheduled for December 6.
