The nineties are back, and in a big way.
Netflix unveiled yesterday (Tuesday) the first trailer for "That 90s Show", the sequel/spinoff series to the legendary "70s Show", which went off the screens in 2006 after eight seasons and 200 wonderful episodes.
The new series will arrive on Netflix on January 19, 2023, and its first season is expected to have ten episodes.
The plot will take place in the summer of 1995 (about a decade and a half after the end of the plot of the original series, on December 31, 1979) and will involve Leah Furman (daughter of Eric and Donna from the original series) visiting her grandparents, Red and Kitty Furman, in the town of Point Place, Wisconsin.
During her visit, she will meet new, funny and quite strange friends, and according to the trailer, it seems that the famous Foreman's basement will once again be a very significant location in the series.
Also expect a comeback of plaid flannel shirts, befitting the grunge fashion of the time.
Leia will be played by the 15-year-old actress Callie Hebrada, which is her first leading role, while among the actors of "That 70's Show", the only main stars who will participate in the new series are Courtwood Smith (Red Furman) and Debra Jo Rupp (Kitty Furman) .
However, the good news - and among us what everyone wants to know - is that the vast majority of the original cast, and we're talking about Ashton Kutcher (Kelso), Mila Kunis (Jackie), Wilmer Valderrama (Paz), Topher Grace (Eric) and Laura Perfon (Donna), will participate in the series in guest roles, probably in one or two episodes.
In fact, the only original star who will not appear in the sequel is Danny Masterson (Steven), who is accused of rape and whose trial is currently underway.
