Storm alert and strong winds in southern Italy

Gusts up to 60-70 km/h mainly from the North-East and storm alert between Sicily, Calabria, Basilicata and Puglia. Important snowfalls expected in the Alps (ANSA)

southern Italy

In the next few hours, pay attention to the storms especially in

Sicily, Calabria, Basilicata and Puglia

Some showers are also expected in

Campania, Molise and Abruzzo

A new cyclone, the

third on 7 days,

will bring new heavy rains: even

100 mm of rain are expected in 24 hours on the Ionian Calabria

and an intensification of the wind with gusts up to

60-70 km/h mainly from the North-East

In the north: irregular clouds.

In the middle: rain showers on the Adriatic.

In the south: widespread rains with thunderstorms and even storms.

Thursday 1st.

In the north: largely overcast skies.

In the middle: very cloudy sky.

In the south: temporal residues, especially in Puglia, cleared up in Sicily.

Friday 2.

In the north: local rains in the plains, snowfalls in

the mountains above 600 metres.

In the centre: rains from Sardinia towards the Tyrrhenian Sea, snow on the northern Apennines above 1200 metres.

In the south: partly cloudy.

Trend: disruption throughout Italy at the weekend.
